HVAA Takes Part in Hemet’s First Community-Led Public Mural
Hemet Valley Art Association was proud to take part in Hemet’s first Community-Led Public Mural, a meaningful project bringing artists, residents, community leaders, and creatives together through the power of public art.
The mural project was built around a simple but important idea: wellness begins with belonging. When people come together to create something visible, lasting, and shared, art becomes more than decoration. It becomes a point of connection, a source of pride, and a reflection of the community itself.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the community was invited to participate in Community Paint Day, helping lay the first brush strokes on what will become the Valley’s first community-led public mural. From 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, participants gathered to be part of this creative milestone and contribute directly to a project shaped by local voices.
HVAA was honored to be part of this moment. As an association dedicated to supporting local artists, encouraging creativity, and strengthening the role of art in the community, this project aligned beautifully with our mission. Public art has a unique way of bringing people together, creating shared spaces that invite conversation, reflection, and pride.
The mural represents more than paint on a wall. It reflects collaboration, belonging, wellness, creativity, and the belief that art and health go hand in hand. Projects like this remind us that creative expression can help build stronger, more connected communities.
