A Blend of Realism with Imagination
Featuring Christine White
Join us for our next HVAA Demonstration Saturday featuring artist Christine White, whose work explores a compelling blend of realism and imagination.
Christine’s art is representational in style while incorporating imaginative elements that bring her subjects to life in unexpected ways. Her work often portrays surreal stories inspired by nature, capturing places, plants, and creatures through a creative and expressive lens.
This demonstration offers a unique opportunity to experience an artist’s creative process, gain inspiration, and connect with the local art community in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Hummingbird Book Signing with Anthony Lujan
Join award-winning author, photographer, and conservation advocate Anthony Lujan for a special book signing at the Hemet Valley Art Association Gallery in Downtown Hemet.
Anthony will be signing copies of his award-winning book, Endangered Hummingbirds: Seeing the Crisis Through My Lens, a powerful collection of photography and storytelling that highlights endangered hummingbird species across the Americas. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the author, have their books signed, and hear the stories behind his work documenting these remarkable and vulnerable species.
Meet international hummingbird photographer Anthony Lujan, explore his work, and learn more about hummingbird conservation. Visitors are also encouraged to view his exhibition on panels #16 and #20.

Demonstration Saturday May 2026
Painting in Two Keys Workshop
with Igor Koutsenko
Join us for our next HVAA Demonstration Saturday featuring artist Igor Koutsenko and his presentation, Painting in Two Keys.
Born in Evpatoria on the Crimean Peninsula, Igor Koutsenko received classical training at the Penza School of Art and developed a strong foundation in the traditions of realist painting. Since immigrating to the United States in 1992, he has continued to build a respected career as a fine artist and instructor, with work held in museum, corporate, and private collections. He currently works at Idyllwild Arts Academy.

Fundraiser Evening of Art
Join us for our fundraiser, Evening of Art, presented by Hemet Valley Art Center.
This special evening features student art and awards, member artwork available for purchase, a silent auction, live demonstrators, a gift basket raffle, and hors d’oeuvres with wine.
Admission to this event is $15 per ticket.

Join us for a fundraiser and help support our non-profit. Our amazing members have generously donated their time and talents to create one-of-a-kind 10” x 10” canvases. Please stop by our gallery to preview their beautiful work and take home one special piece, maybe even two! Each canvas is $40.

Artist Registration - Evening of Art (Members-only)
Today come register for Evening of Art.
You need to register to exhibit your work at this year’s Evening of Art. Complete the registration form and pay your fee to the art center on April 6. (Same day as Change of Painting) Come between 9:00 AM and Noon to the classroom behind the gallery.
You will be registering and paying for your art only. Fee of $15 first piece, each additional piece $5.
Whether you enter one piece of art or more, you will receive only one complementary entry ticket to Evening of Art.

April 18 – Bring your art directly to the library
April 18, the day of Evening of Art, you will bring your artwork and receipt for registration payment directly to the second floor of the Hemet Public Library (305 E. Latham, just north of the art center) between 9:00 am and noon.

Zentangling (or "tangling") is a meditative, easy-to-learn art form that involves creating intricate, beautiful images by drawing structured, repetitive patterns. Developed by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, this technique combines the concepts of "Zen" (meditative calmness) and "tangle" (structured, overlapping patterns) to foster focus, creativity, and inner peace.
